Langley Times ‘Everyone loves cop cars’

Jovan Vujatovic shows
off the police car used in the 1980s TV show the Dukes of Hazzard.
Vujatovic, who works in the film industry, has been displaying his collection of police cars at
the Langley Good Times Cruise-In since 2002.
Growing up, Jovan Vujatovic loved cars, and especially cop cars. He was fascinated by them. Another one of his loves was the popular TV show of the early 1980s, the Dukes of Hazzard, so when he
heard that the General Lee, the car made famous by the fictional Bo and Luke Duke, was making an appearance at the Langley
Good Times Cruise-In back in 2000, Vujatovic decided to check out the car show, “It was a rainy day, but I decided to
come down and check it out,” Vujatovic recalled. He met Richard Cummins, a stunt car driver, who owned the 1968 Orange Dodge Charger made famous by the
show, as well as the cop car driven by another character on the show, Roscoe P. Coltrane.“I saw the General Lee and Roscoe’s police car, and Richard
and myself have been best friends ever since,” Vujatovic said. Vujatovic has been showing cars at the Langley Good Times Cruise-In since 2002. On Saturday, he had four police cars lined up —
he has 28 to choose from — for the car enthusiasts to take a look at, Vujatovic has his own company, 396moviecars,
which is a vehicle rental and supply company for local films and TV shows. He also works as a Vehicle co-ordinator in the
film industry. He said it is
the excitement of the weekend which keeps drawing him back to the annual show, “There are lots of people here, good
music and it is great for the community,” he said. Having police cars helps Vujatovic stand out from the rest of the crowd as well. “I definitely get a lot of attention, it
has been kids non-stop all day,” he said. “That is the fun part of it. “I love cruising in (to the show) in the morning with the lights
and sirens blaring.” “And
growing up, everyone loves cop cars.”
